City of Newberry Memorial Day Closure - 5/25/26

Monday, May 25, 2026 (All day)

We Honor Memorial Day 2026

The City of Newberry will observe Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, 2026, as we honor and remember the brave men and women who served our nation. In observance of the holiday, all City government offices, excluding emergency services, will be closed on Monday.

While City offices will be closed, residents may still make utility bill payments through the City’s automated phone system at 352-472-2161 or online through the City website.

As always, residents can reach us 24/7 for service needs by:
• Calling 352-472-2161 ext. 1
• Using the Newberry FL Connect app

Utility outages may also be reported online or by phone at any time.

Garbage & Recycling Collection Schedule Changes:

Due to the holiday, curbside residential solid waste and recycling collection services in the Newberry collection area will operate on a one-day delay for the week of May 25th:

• Monday collection → Tuesday
• Tuesday collection → Wednesday
• Wednesday collection → Thursday
• Thursday collection → Friday
• Friday collection → Saturday

The regular collection schedule will resume on Monday, June 1, 2026.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this observance period. On behalf of the City of Newberry, we wish everyone a safe and peaceful Memorial Day as we take time to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Sincerely,
City of Newberry
