Election Qualifying Begins

City of Newberry municipal candidates shall qualify for office with City Clerk Judy Rice. The qualifying period begins at noon, Monday, February 25th and ends at noon, Thursday, March 7th.

Mayor                                                                                                             Total Fees $421.20

Term of Office – 2 Years                                                                              

State Election Assessment Fee - $105.30      

Qualifying Fee - 315.90

The Mayor is elected by the electors of the City of Newberry to serve a 2-year term. Each candidate must be a qualified voter who is a resident of the City for a period of not less than 6 months prior to the date the person qualifies to run for office. The person elected shall continuously reside in the City of Newberry during the term of office.

City Commissioner Group IV                                                                         Total Fees $421.20

Term of Office – 2 Years
