Join the City of Newberry as we celebrate a major milestone in our community's future with the groundbreaking of the new Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant.
This transformative project represents a significant investment in environmental stewardship, regional collaboration, and economic development. The facility will provide advanced wastewater treatment capabilities, including the removal of nitrogen and phosphorus to support the environmental goals of the Santa Fe Basin Management Action Plan (BMAP). The project will also facilitate centralized wastewater treatment for the City of Archer, reducing reliance on septic systems within the Santa Fe BMAP area, while creating additional capacity to support future growth and economic opportunities throughout the region.
The City of Newberry is proud to recognize the many partners who have helped make this project possible, including the Suwannee River Water Management District (SRWMD), Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), AtkinsRéalis, City of Archer, Baker Water, and Wright-Pierce.
Community members, regional leaders, project partners, and stakeholders are invited to join us as we officially break ground on a project that will serve our region for generations to come.
