Traffic Update: CR 235 & Newberry Lane All-Way Stop Begins February 23

The City of Newberry would like to provide an important traffic update for our community.

Beginning February 23, the intersection of County Road 235 and Newberry Lane will officially transition to an all-way stop. This change is being implemented to improve safety and traffic flow at this busy intersection.

We would like to sincerely thank Alachua County for hearing our concerns and working with us to address the need for additional traffic control measures on this County roadway. Their partnership and responsiveness are greatly appreciated as we continue working together to enhance safety for our residents.

This all-way stop is an important interim improvement, and we are also excited about the anticipated future roundabout that is planned to eventually replace the four-way stop. The roundabout will provide a long-term solution designed to further improve traffic efficiency and safety in the area.

As drivers adjust to the new traffic pattern, we encourage everyone to use caution, reduce speed, and remain alert when traveling through the intersection.
