It is easier than ever to get in contact with the City of Newberry. The City has introduced a new “live chat” service for its customers accessible across various platforms including PCs, tablets, and smartphones.

Starting today, April  13, City of Newberry residents and customers can access the new chat feature when they visit the City’s website (click here) whether from a personal computer or a mobile device. The online, real-time chat service works alongside its 24/7 call center, emails and social media channels to give customers direct access to customer service representatives to conduct city business. The feature is available from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. After-hours chat requests will be handled the next business day.

The chat service provides customers immediate access to help, and customers can easily multi-task while waiting.

“I’m really excited because the Live Chat will allow residents to have a choice. Many residents still prefer contacting us by phone or in person,” said Dallas Lee, Director of Finance & Administration. “But among millennials and younger generations particularly, the internet is the preferred method of communication. Live Chat allows those who are busy to be able to continue to do what they need to do, whether it’s with their children or with their work, and still be able to get their community needs taken care of and to receive information”
