Alachua County Burn Ban Extended to March 13th

Burn Ban Extended for Alachua County to March 13th

The Alachua County burn ban has been extended for an additional week. While recent rainfall has improved some conditions, the Florida Forest Service reports the Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) remains at 540, meaning wildfire risk is still elevated.

For this reason, maintaining the burn ban is the safest course of action at this time.

  • Campfires & bonfires
  • Burning yard debris or trash
  • Unpermitted controlled burns
  • Construction or organic debris burning
  • Fireworks

We appreciate everyone doing their part to help prevent wildfires and keep our community safe.
