Marden worked his way through college as a multi-unit manager with Gator Dining Service running three restaurants and managing a twenty-four hour seven day a week staff of over one-hundred.

After college Commissioner Marden began working in the Insurance industry and had been primarily handling claims, but he was also an agent for two years. He worked on a four-person task force which reduced costs of claims inventory of over a million dollars in the course of a week.

Commissioner Marden is married to Danielle, with whom he has raised two children. He and his wife are both prior business owners, youth coaches, mentors, and community volunteers.  He currently works as a National Development Officer for The John Birch Society and Danielle works for a title agency in the real estate.

Commissioner Marden is most proud of the strides Newberry has made in recent years. During his tenure on the Commission residents have seen reduced taxes, reduced debt, saved money, building and renewing of infrastructure. Newberry is moving into the future with sound financial backing, focusing on where we have been. Great things grow in Newberry.
